Road trip time! Your Sahara adventure begins as we leave Marrakech behind and head south through some of Morocco’s most spectacular landscapes. We’ll cross the High Atlas Mountains via the winding Tizi n’Tichka Pass, where incredible mountain views and traditional Berber villages appear around almost every corner. From there, the scenery gradually changes as we continue through the Anti-Atlas Mountains and towards the beautiful Draa Valley. Palm groves, ancient kasbahs and small villages line the route as we follow this historic gateway towards the desert. By late afternoon, we’ll arrive in M’Hamid El Ghizlane, the last village before the vast Sahara begins. Settle into your comfortable guesthouse, enjoy a delicious Moroccan dinner and get ready for tomorrow’s camel trek into the desert wilderness!
The real desert adventure starts today! After breakfast, you’ll meet your local desert guides and the camel caravan that will accompany you across the Sahara. Once everyone is comfortable and ready to go, we’ll leave M’Hamid behind as the palm groves slowly disappear and the open desert begins to stretch out in every direction. Enjoy the peaceful rhythm of the camel trek as we travel across wide desert plains towards the beautiful dunes of Sidi Naji. The silence and endless landscapes make this one of those moments where you can truly disconnect from everyday life. By late afternoon, we’ll arrive at our mobile camp and settle in for the night. Enjoy a freshly prepared dinner, traditional mint tea and an unforgettable evening beneath a sky filled with stars.
Wake up surrounded by the peaceful Sahara and enjoy breakfast before continuing your camel trek deeper into the desert. Today’s journey takes you across an ever-changing landscape of rolling dunes, rocky plains and dry riverbeds. Along the way, you’ll see hardy desert plants such as acacia and tamarisk trees, which have adapted perfectly to this extreme environment. Your guides will share stories about desert life, traditional navigation and the customs that have been passed down through generations of nomadic families. There’s plenty of time to slow down, enjoy the silence and take in the incredible scenery around you. By afternoon, we’ll reach the remote area of Ait Ounir, where our mobile camp will be prepared for another peaceful night in the Sahara.
Ready for another unforgettable day in the Sahara? After breakfast, we’ll continue our camel trek from Ait Ounir towards the impressive dunes of Erg Zahar. As we move further into the desert, the landscape becomes increasingly remote, with wide open plains and golden dunes creating incredible views in every direction. By afternoon, we’ll reach Erg Zahar, one of the most beautiful dune areas along this desert route. Climb to the top of the dunes and take a moment to enjoy the peaceful surroundings before watching the colours change as the sun begins to set. Later, return to camp for traditional tea and a freshly prepared dinner. With almost no light pollution around you, tonight’s star-filled sky is something you won’t forget!
After your final breakfast in the middle of the Sahara, it’s time to swap the camel caravan for a 4×4 adventure! Say goodbye to your desert guides and climb aboard your vehicle for an exciting off-road journey across the rugged desert landscape. The ride takes you over sandy tracks and wide open plains as we gradually leave the remote dunes of Erg Zahar behind. As we travel towards the Draa Valley, the scenery begins to change once again. Palm groves, traditional villages and ancient kasbahs start appearing along the route, creating a beautiful contrast with the desert landscapes you’ve just crossed. After several days of mobile camping, you’ll arrive at your comfortable accommodation where a hot shower, a delicious dinner and a relaxing evening will definitely be appreciated!
After breakfast, we begin our journey back towards Marrakech, but there are still some amazing stops ahead! We’ll travel through the Draa Valley and continue towards Ouarzazate, Morocco’s famous “Gateway to the Desert.” Here, you’ll visit one of the city’s film studios and discover why this region has been used as the backdrop for so many international movies and television productions. Next, we’ll head to the incredible Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its traditional earthen architecture and rich film history. Wander through its narrow streets and climb higher for beautiful views over the surrounding valley. Afterwards, we’ll cross the majestic High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass before arriving back in Marrakech in the evening.
Your final day brings you back to the colourful energy of Marrakech! After breakfast, our local guide will take you on a walking tour through the historic Medina, where you’ll explore some of the city’s most famous landmarks. Discover the beautiful Bahia Palace, admire the intricate architecture of Ben Youssef Madrasa and wander through the lively streets and traditional markets around the old city. After your morning of sightseeing, it’s time to relax Moroccan style! Enjoy a traditional hammam experience with exfoliation and massage – the perfect way to unwind after your Sahara adventure. Afterwards, you’ll have some free time to explore the Souks, pick up a few souvenirs or simply enjoy a glass of refreshing mint tea while soaking up the atmosphere of Marrakech.
